Fireants is leading the trend of young upstart bands. Unlike most of their High School peers who tend to take to Alternative Rock, Fireants members find their inspiration in roots, folk, Americana and bluegrass music. The band members may be young in years (all are still in various Austin high schools ) but they are accruing experience and acclaim at an accelerated rate. Fireants frequently share the stage with many seasoned rockers including Bob Schneider and Alejandro Escovedo and even backed them up during the Austin Music Awards 2009, making it the youngest band ever to play the event.
